hi Guys,
dont normally ask for appraisals but im having a hard time valuing this one. Got a letter from a domainer involved with TRAFFIC, same as a few other members on here have asking to buy insurancepolices dot co dot uk and asking for a price.

Any ideas?

Rob

480 according to Google (set to exact) for insurance policies.

i reckon low £xxxx, but then you have to question why someone involved with traffic wants it????

I would be happy with any sale over £750 I think. The term "insurance policies" doesn't get that much traffic, so it's a brandability sale. That said, insurance is a valuable industry, and if someone wants it badly enough, it could go for more, so pitch your initial offer accordingly if you like and see what the response is.

Every insurance document that an insurance company produces is a "policy". Even though it may not have high exact Google results, it is very memorable and "trustworthy" as a URL for a company in the insurance space, and the plural is better than the singular. I'd say 5K easy for an end-user buyer.

Thanks to all that replied. From the people i have spoken to aside from this in the industry they quote ranges from 5k-15k+, shows how subjective domain names are and why i had a harder time valuing this one.

Appreciate the feedback

Thanks

Rob

OK, I think my initial valuation comments were way too low ... they were based on the fact that the exact phrase match on AdWords doesn't attract PPC clicks. On a phrase match it does much better so my initial asking price would definitely be above £5k ... especially considering it's a domain in the insurance industry.

Don't expect anything close to the real value from the interested party. That isn't a criticism of them, but since they're looking to flip and undoubtedly have sizeable margins in mind, their offer will reflect this. I'd be happy with £2-4k, but would expect at least twice this from a buyer looking to develop.
