Can anyone give me thoughts on

HydrogenFuelCell.co.uk + org.uk with the option for the .uk

I think it has some good value as this is an emerging technology that is becoming more and more common place but as to a value I need some guidance before I try and sell it.

Thanks all

Matt

The issue here is that this is a very high tech name, but it's not a "commercially" strong domain, i.e. one that can help sell stuff to people.

I hope you do well with it, but I don't regard it as that valuable. One technique to sell domains is to send letters to possible buyers. If I said to do that, who would you send them to and why do you think they would buy it? Please reply.

Thanks

Chris

Chris, I think you are probably right, there are some big players in the research sectors, Rolls Royce, E-on, BOC, British Gas etc etc. but as to if they would want to buy such a domain, I don't know.

Perhaps it has value to a research group?

The problem is, the benefit of say Rolls Royce owning the domain is relatively insignificant, so they won't be overly interested in buying it.

There may be a buyer out there however, but the business advantage of owning the name isn't huge.

If someone is trying to sell their hydrogen fuel cell tech to other companies, that may have some potential.

If you want to do something with the domain, I would put up a site and see if you can become a "hub" for the tech. If that doesn't fill you with enthusiasm, then that tells you something about the value of owning the domain.

Wishing you success :D

Business that brings new products services etc to market especially those that cost millions in development etc go brand because it offers far more than using the generic description ever can?

Generics can be brands e.g. orange, apple etc but very few used to sell there descriptive, even business which own them etc often redirect to Brand

Established are brands new to the market need to be brands I'd say bigger the company more the need? (often the ones with the deepest pockets too?)

What’s left are those with much smaller budgets in a catch 22 the owners of the generics want x but buyers only have y?
5 -10 years ago it was different? But does the owner of the Lamb inn need to spend xxxx to get it when they could reg lambinn.Pub etc for reg fee even if you ignore the multitude of extensions on the market search engines no longer give the advantages they used too for the genric/emd and the technology of the search itself is much smarter( there ultimate goal any search is paid for? ) There will always be exceptions but there often hard work to monetise even harder to sell?
