Anyone willing to get off their golden toilet and post the addresses of their affiliate sites so we can all learn how it's done?:D

Slater,

I use:

buy.at
tradedoubler.com
OMGUK.com

I'm new to the game though and it takes time to point the right domains to the right affiliate programme.

Regards,

Newbie.

Don't know if you were replying to me as you put slater, but I meant developed sites using affiliate marketing not sites offering affiliate ads.
I belong to all of those and more.

This poll is really quite irrelevant, as true monetary income can only be judged from profit made, if for example i bought a name such as freedownloads.com from the current owner for £500,000 i am sure my monthly parking revenue would be over the £500 threshold, but after 5 years i would still have made only £30,000 ie -£470,000.
On the other hand if i bought a name for £6 and the name made me £10 per month for 5 year's then i would be £600 in profit.
The question should really be how much profit have you made from your domains, as anyone could make over £500 a month from parking programs if you threw enough cash at it.

All of my parked domains were self registered, so were all £5 each.

I have purchased some domains (because I liked them) but they don't make money!

For the purpose of the poll, is in not best to keep it simple and look at "earnings" rather than "profit"? I assumed it just meant earnings.

It would be interesting to add a few more tiers to the poll such as:

500-750
750-1000
1000-2000
2000-3000
3000-4000
4000-5000
5000+

Rgds,

500-750
750-1000
1000-2000
2000-3000
3000-4000
4000-5000
5000+

Since you can only have 10 poll options (I think), how about the following for a future poll, assuming it also included affiliate and other online ad-related income sources?

Under 500
500-1,000
1,000-2,000
2,000-3,500
3,500-5,000
5,000-7,500
7,500-10,000
10,000-15,000
15,000-25,000
Over 25,000

Because 60% of replys so far are under £500.

How about you knock up your own poll and leave this one as it is#?

"...because I liked them..." - Do you mean you had an expectation that these names would make money and as it turned out they just didn't,...or?

I only pay reg fee.

So is this your 'policy', never buy a name (excluding reg fee)?

Is it because you don't want to spend the cash, or perhaps because you see buying as a potentially dangerous option (i.e. the very rational and real concern about the possibility of being deceived by fake stats et.c.)?

Just curious about how others go about getting their names :)

Well ive bought a few to be honest, 1 sale on ebay from a member here and 1 sale off a members post here. Total spend was about £350. Really just cos' im hanging around the forum so much thought I would participate :p

I only joined this forum cos' I was interested in dropcatching, thats all I really do. When you pick up names like wicked.co.uk for a fiver, then its alot of fun.. but mostly its just cursing other forum members :p

As a rule I would'nt buy domains.. why? probs im just tight (unless there cheap) ;)

I have never paid more than reg fee for a domain name, and have made around 5 times more than outlay in sales and parking combined. :D

r u trying to say that you earn over £25k a month from your domains? :D

Ideally I should of put up seperate polls for each, but it would get too technical as you would have to put how many domains etc.....
It's apparent that many are making £500+pm but they may have 10,000 domains parked or 100+ sites.

I put the poll up as I just wanted an idea of the potential in parking and affiliate sites and to guage if it was worth my time developing domains I have as affiliate sites.

There aren't too many domainers that earn that kind of cash (£25K/month)... I can think of only a few like that, i.e. Adam Dicker, Matt Prince etc, but there are plenty of domainers these days who earn £3000+ ... even in the UK.

I'm quite new to all this stuff but gotta say that cash parking is no guarantee for me...I would not think a trafffic domain would keep its traffic for years unless its a generic popular name...

So, although I'm willing to offer good money for any traffic domain, I dont think 2 years or more in the asking price is acceptable for me...

Anything could happen between now and 2 years, the internet may change totally, so I dunno why some people straight off ask for 2+ years revenue...

Thats said, my first love will always to be as a developer and learn how to create and run multiple sites that would make me a much better income than having to scold all these crappy parking providers who keep shortchanging users...

Parking will just be side income for me...and lets face it, do you like to click or type a url only to see a parked page? When more people get on the net and learn how it works....parking is gonna go down...trust me. Nobody wants to click on ads on a parked page if they know what it means.

However, parking now is still padding for me and as I said, side income....so if any of you wants to dump any small earning domains that only make 5-10 bucks, let me know...just dont ask for 2 years revenue..:))

I know money isn't everything, but I sure would like to hold one of those $120k+ checks every few months....
