If you have a traffic/revenue domain. You have a liquid market for that domain.
Buyers will pay fixed multiples on the revenue at just about any time you like.
However, if you have a long list of fantastic generics and wait for buyers to enquire, then you have very little control of which domains you sell and when.
Sometimes the fantastic generic will command a higher price than the traffic domain, but I'd say the vast majority of domain sales occur at far below the £2000 level, generic or traffic, so prices are in general pretty comparable.
There are exceptional portfolios and exceptional salespeople who make more from their domains, but they are not the rule.
