Wanted: Website Review Hotels in Chelsea

Hi all,

I picked this domain up on this forum probably about a year ago now and have finally decided to put something proper on it.

As you'll be able to tell i'm no developer, in fact its the first site i've spent more than a day doing. It is also still a work in progress.

Just wanting some input to see what you think of it.

The site is Hotels in Chelsea

Quick thoughts from me:

- Need a nice picture of a hotel in the header.

- Red header area takes up too much space.

- Room search needs to be higher on page and need to lead visitor into it better.

- Add a site map and lots of longtail pages.

Thanks for the advice there. Ive have made some changes in line with what you suggested.

When you say longtail pages what do you mean exactly? I am in the process of adding individual pages for around 150 hotels which should go somewhere to bulk out the site.

Any other input would be appriciated

Looking better already

By longtail I mean adding pages targetted to longtail search terms. For these I use file names like:

5-star-hotels-in-chelsea.php

boutique-hotels-in-chelsea.php

luxury-hotel-in-chelsea.php

etc etc

Spelling mistakes - you will be spoily for choice.

I'd also remove the freewebsitetemplates link from the bottom.

How are you going to monetise it?

Can you not have the search box set to Chelsea ?
The whole point of the site is to provide details of hotels in Chelsea so why have the search box saying choose destination ?

I know that's how them interactive search boxes work but can't you set it to Chelsea ?

The home pagelooks ok, the colours are warming and cosy

I am currently working on more longtail pages.

Thanks Dashu1 for pointing that out, I really should have checked better for typos. As for monitising it I am working on placing another adsense unit in there but I am looking for actual hotel bookings to be generated through the site and the links and search boxes within it. This I feel will be the main source of income when it gets going.

Doodblebug, yes this is something which I did want, as the website it targeted at Chelsea. However, I simply cannot find a way of getting the preset search boxes from the Laterooms Affiliate program to do the. I think there is a possibility of contacting them for a specially coded one, so I will be looking into that.
