Hostpay from Heart Internet

I believe Bensd emailed them, maybe he can post an update ?

I had a reply from Heart Internet who said there is no problem giving away free hosting to friends/family as long as you are not publically selling free space.

On a further note does anyone know of any "better" hosting resellers as I am looking at Heart Internet. I have been dealing with them for some years now since the owners used to run Web Fusion and I left them as they were rubbish! (Web Fusion that is).

I used to run a hosting company using webfusion reseller back around the late 90s early 00s setup on a princes trust thing, as i recall they used to charge like 25quid for each account you setup. Then i moved to donhost.

I don't like hearts terms on what content you can host, what type of sites, what you can do with what you have paid for.

For every happy oneandone customer is an unhappy one or dozen on this forum heh, the same goes for heart. Many of there business like heart, one and one, etc are fine for regular end users but but their b2b side leaves alot to be desired.

Oh if you do a search for evohosting on the forum thats who i use now :)

I just looked at evohosting the front end of the site looks a bit odd the graphics are stretched? They don't seem to offer reselling which is what i am after? I was also looking at godaddy and although it looks good I need to see if it can offer as much as Heart Internet.
Godaddys free google adwords is only good to usa but thats not the end of the world.
I like the fact that I wouldnt have to build a web site around godaddy whereas with Heart Internet I would, so thats a big bonus!
Anyone else using GoDaddy?

Mate, Sounds like you need it for business use, for an extra £40 on top of hearts plan you can get your own dedicated server.

The speeds on your site will be around 6 times faster on your own server compared to heart's reseller, as they cram loads of sites on each server.

Many thanks for reply, I am working to a small budget, so maybe that will come one day. I have just noticed that HostPay is given with each reseller account.
Hostpay is what I wanted last year with Heart but it wasnt available, so it is looking good now. I have just tried the demo out and it does everthing it says on the tin.
I have used their servers before and I couldnt complain at the time and the service has always been very good. I currently use Servage net but hardly use it now so paying over the odds just to run a couple of sites (one escort site) which i may or may not be able to host on Heart.
I am not one for jumping into things as you can see and have looked at loads of other hosting packages. I am simply going to try and be a reseller as I tried web design once and couldnt get the business.
Just got to look into marketing my business now!

If you use heart for setting up a reseller business your asking for the kinda headache that that forgetting your birds name in bed and calling her, her best friends name can only dream of being. Remember that you must pass hearts TOS /AUP policies as a minimum to your customers.

This step alone has sliced a quarter off in the bands, storage, graphics, mp3 and video users. It also kills another section with the no adult rules. You have at worst ruled out half the paying customers, at best a third.

Like one and none, heart seems to ok for the b2c business but their b2b business leaves much to be desired. I have friends who have simple hosting accounts and are happy but anything else no one is happy. So bear this in mind because it will come back to bite you on the ass.

I am quite happy with what they offer and the services, I had a business account with them since they started and never had downtime or problems. I will be using them as a reseller as they offer everything I need with the introduction of HostPay.
As for missing half the market I am not aiming my business at adult sites or mp3 storage etc. So I really aint bothered!

The conditions reach well beyond the few examples I gave, however its not my business to make your choices.

Good Luck with your new Venture :)
