Anyone else seeing high latency since the DAC came back yesterday evening? Mine has practically doubled. Do we know exactly what work they carried out?

Perhaps they added usleep(1000) ?

Sorry, couldn't resist - I'm in a Friday mood.

Hah, possibly :D Seriously don't want to go through seeking out a new host all over again!

Added a new rule to the border router :)

IF (IP != approved_catcher) {delay random}

Who do I need to bribe to get on the approved list :p

In their system update they say:

At 18:00 (GMT) on Thursday 18 February 2016 we will be testing our business continuity plans which will include the following Registry services:

EPP
DAC
WHOIS
Online Services
Business Intelligence
gTLD services

Testing will take up to three hours during which time services will be moved to our second data centre and will therefore be unavailable.

At the point of switching, live connections will be disconnected however a new connection should be automatically established by your client when the service is available again.

Assuming they move their services back to their primary data centre, you'd think timings would be the same as before... :/ Ah well.

Odd continuity plans, whenever I've done BC tests, we've always actually failed over the operational service and run live on the backup systems to prove the people that actually need to use the service can do.
