Hi,

My friend has a domain that expired today (actually it's his sister's domain), as they have been unable to remember their login / password details. They've tried contacting DNBuy.com countless times in the last two weeks but today their domain - littlefishes.net finally expired... Not quite sure what they can do to get it back. Obviously he's very keen to get the domain back.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Phil

Most places usually have a grace period I'd try initiating a transfer request at somewhere like godaddy hopefully the transfer request will still land at the admin email address accept it then renew at the new host

Just at the whois its locked and set to dnbuy so not sure it will work. I've never heard of them and i notice they don't even handle there own email [email protected]
This wouldn't inspire me much about getting email support I'd get your friend to ring them if they have a number

I don't think they have a phone number at all, and their support don't respond to emails.

Chances are no one else will pick it up when it drops, I will watch out for it and reg it if I can and then transfer it and you could ask other Acorners to do likewise, only problem is that you can't transfer a TLD until 60 days after registration but you could update the nameservers and create A records etc on their behalf.

A transfer wouldn't work without first unlockng the domain sorry :(

Best of luck 8)

Just checked and this has been renewed today, is that good news or bad Phillip

Don't want to link to another forum but if you google "namepros dnbuy" theres a post in first place were a company Representative responds to some issues. It's old post so I'm not sure if the Representative is still active might be worth a pm just in case.

Maybe that's an automatic renewal. So I guess that's a good thing, although her website seems to have gone. The website was for two nurseries that she runs in Devon. Not good news...

Watch out for inhouse domain renewals - that aren't.

Many TLD are renowned for that as part of their reseller programme. the domain is shown as renewed but in fact assigned to their inhouse auction system. This I'm sure you will find is what is happening with your domain.

There are as I suspected TWO expiration dates
1. is the local database at DNbuy - which has to reflect the true status Expired 25.april 2011
2. And there is the registry database which will be updated to reflect a ENOM status (parent registry) for the domain

I'm amazed to see that DNBUY are the registered contacts (administrator) for the domain. Don't be fooled into thinking it will drop It probably won't - this already has the signs of being a standard internal transfer. Don't be unduly worried either just go to Goddaddys whois page you will see first the two registry status and contact pages

(don't forget to click the underlying registry link -shown in blue) and you will bring up all the contact info that you need for both DNbuy and ENOM- including confirmation that the domain HAS NOT BEEN RENEWED.

You have had that domain for 9 years - and the current registration agent has I believe a 60 day grace pay or delete for the domain (hence a renewal that isn't)- which is not offered to you. they are very unlikely to take control before a minimum of 15 -30 days but their own T&Cs can require a penalty payment for late payment.

If you have any problem bringing up the info let me know and i will cut and paste the TWO relevant status pages to you in an email.

Added - the contact info is poor but don't let this go by any longer than you can help. The domain is now parked and obviously checking for traffic (shameful behaviour from a domain service when the domain is only 1 day over) this will run for about 42 days - after that that it will either drop or be subject to premium pricing
