Wanted: Domain Appraisal help appraising my domain names

reasons I think they are worth something

-as stated by someone before they are better as .com or .net

Same as the vast majority of domains

-searchable in search engines

Yes, Google does index websites.

-residual traffic

How much and how when nobody searches for these keywords? Long tail maybe but that can be applied to any website.

-can be given different uses for different products

This isn't necessarily a good thing.

-items that people want, need and pay good money for (pets, moves, travel)

So if I register, thetravelpetmovers.com, that means its a valuable reg?

-this is the only forum that has given them no value which is absolutely ridiculous and makes me think that the people answering are either pikers or have no vision

No, we're all nutters with no domaining or online business experience. Not one person has agreed with you and you're calling us pikers that lack vision.

-parked they have already in less than a month paid for themselves

Please prove this as I just can't see it.

-no undesirable characters

What does this mean in reality?

The average of paid appraisals and free ones online gives them a decent value

Free appraisals mean NOTHING. Actually less than nothing as it gives people false hope. If you've received positive appraisals from real people can you please link?

I believe that you are used to appraising .co.uk names and not really the .coms of the world as this forum rarely sees value on any domain.

I spent $10000 on .com domains the last 2 months and am very happy with my purchases. This is small fry money but am just making the point that I have no issues with .com or even .net.

This isn't a witch hunt mate. I'm just confused why you think these domains are valuable and why you're arguing with many many domain experts that are disagreeing with you?

Can't we ignore these types of post rather than generate loads of pointless noise? These might be crap names but judging by the vast number of bargain basement sales we are all engaged in then none of us are doing much better.

Stephen.

But at least those of us that put our domains in that section realise they have little value.

No he is right we are jealous should have bought expodogs when it was up on sedo in 2010 or ldmove when it dropped in 2005 or footballpage when it dropped 2010 but most of us like to think about names and two years is just not enough time don't want to make any rush decision when registering a name....

What's a piker?

In the good old days it was someone who goes pike fishing :) unlike a carper, somone who goes carp fishing but also could be someone who relentlessly 'carps on' about something (crap domains perhaps?)
