Has anyone gone down the compensation route or is their another thread?

2 VPS became unusable with Mysql DB errors, emails limped through until we migrated 60% of sites and emails off using UPDRAFT plugin and recreating emails.

We did have backups and SNAPSHOTs in place with Heart and paid monthly for them, guess what, yep they had been corrupted too and actually in the end just wiped the server clean making the rest of the data gone forever.

Did you test your backups regularly? And have a redundant option?

The more important the server, the more planning you should be doing!

Yes that's true. I'm sure they would work if not corrupted by the outage and wouldn't test a full back up restore just to test it as run the risk of loosing emails, files in the restore.

We we're in the process of adding more backup options for all sites and emails as we already paid for daily and snapshot backups.

If you pay for a backup system for a server and accounts you'd like to think if a services did go down their backup would be off site and away from the servers so not to be effected.

Question was though Martin - Has anyone gone down the compensation route or is their another thread?
