Hi DG,
I am looking to set up a ringtone related site and wondered if you could give me advice on how to go about setting up affiliation with Jamster (there's no info on their website) and do they pay the most for ppc? How much?

Regards

I merely joined the Jamster affiliation at TradeDoubler and
wacked the html code onto the page. That was it.
Then pointed all the relevant domains to that one
page. What I can say is that Jamster pay a large percentage commission and found them much
better thanMedia Plazza myself so far,

http://www.tradedoubler.co.uk/pan/login?action=register

Good luck with it,
DG

I don't think you'll get very far with that approach Danny. It may work well for Genius but I usually don't get very far by whacking up code.

Tell you what. I've been thinking about finding the time to make a mobile tones site and this morning I was pleasantly surprised to find a dropcatcher in my inbox with "mobiletonechart.co.uk" in it.

Others may think I am crazy for wasting dropcatchers this way but I like this name and think it will make a cool site.

I've got a couple of mates who have tones sites and they make £1 per visitor - so it's definitely a good earner. Once I've made the site and got it ranked drop me a PM and I'll show you exactly how I did it ;-)

Cheers DG,

I'm signing up with them now! Will let you know how I do.

Hi StoreBuilder,
Thanks that would be great! and given your experience in the marketing field this knowledge I am sure will go along way to helping get some good revenue from my new site(s). Keep me posted.

StoreBuilder,
I have registered my domain a while ago now and I am just wondering if it is a good idea, in your opinion, to register the hypenated version of it also? I have heard that search engines prefer these hypenated-names.co.uk. I know this questions been asked hundereds of times but its one I find myself up against time and time again.

Do you also register the singular version, if say the name was ringtones.co.uk do you go for ringtone.co.uk aswell? I ask because it gets real expensive registering all 3 alternatives every time you find a good name available? :)

Regards

If you've already regged a name and started work on a site, then stick with that name because the way google works means that older documents have more importance and so they are easier to rank.

If it's a new site then the hyphenated name is better and the plural is not important.

Seoguy http://www.seoguy.com redirects to http://www.seo-guy.com and he knows what he is doing. So I'd say the hyphenated name is better overall for gaining traffic.

last week, we had a $5.20 click for one of our clients at NameDrive :)
It may have been some kind of anomaly, but it's the highest I've ever seen in this market...

Just thought I'd drop that in...

Have a great weekend everyone.

Charlie,

How is your firebox affiliate scheme working - I love some of the products on it - e.g. voodoo knife block and robot soccer - and will look again when christmas shopping time is upon us (christmas eve!).

Was it easy to set up, and does it give good ctr and cpa?

You don't have to say, but I'd be interested in any recommendations or otherwise you'd be prepared to divulge?

Thanks

its been ok during the last couple of weeks to be honest the comissions so far have been low so it doesn;t add up to much in total. before the festive period i had little to none.

Dont really like the site design, its one i have to go back to but while its up its establishing itself slowly. I havent spent ages on SEO stuff ...nor i have i updated it for ages!! (.........i'll be back!)

so far about £30 which is more than parking at least.

I love some of the products on it
- buy something i'll let you know if they pay :D :D

Charlie, loving the site...

If you link to me, and anyone else ("Affiliate" with the URL http://www.affiliate1.co.uk) then i'll link back.

Think the problem is no typo trough traffic. If we try together to get some traffic from linking to you through something like: "boys toys" or "gadgets" then we might increase that for you.

Let me know

with new vigour i'll try and up date the site over the next couple of week - yeah right in the festive season, unfortunatley i aint that dedicated and beer wins!
but if/when i do i'll get back to you

thanks for the interest
