I don't want to intrude on this great thread started by Doodlebug but...

[Perhaps for fun each person could put up a low value domain (free to transfer - so not UK - perhaps a org, net or info). The winner would then get the domains. ]

The easiest way to do the sweepstake is perhaps for people to select a number from 1-40 before Thursday (final declaration stage and when running numbers will be announced). If it is unlikely that 40 people would enter then perhaps each person selects five numbers...

The current list of runners will be cut to 40, so if people select a horse now then it may not run...

Of course if Admin doesn't agree with this then he can pull it. Although, I would class this as more of a competition than gambling as we are not staking any money

tbh I think it would be better sticking to fun by choosing a name, people are going to end up with domains they don't won't to renew or even try to sell or develop.

If using domians then they should be of quality and .com or .co.uk only, no offence but buygolfbags.info

a better idea is for anyone who wants to be involved pays £1.05 to a nominated paypal account with the reference "stickers" or similar so not to flag the paypal account

then that means it is just over £1 after paypal fees x 40 horses

1st gets £25
2nd gets £10
3rd gets £5

Easy !

That would be ideal but then you are stepping into the gambling arena and as a sweepstake is classified as a lottery you would need permission.
