estateagent.net (if you like that sort of thing)

all of which you'll have to dig a little deeper - your in a very competitive market. I'm sure people like foxtons or hamptons would consider £10k + for any of the above hence why most estate agents use their name eg jonesproperty.co.uk

Fair comment. The site I'm developing is more a property portal like primelocation.com and rightmove.co.uk. My old company of estate agents paid £3000 for edmund.co.uk so I understand what you are saying.
Whatever happens, I need a good name...
Maybe it doesn't have to be house related? e.g. confused.com....

Things like confused . com are great if you have a few million to spend on the ad campaign...otherwise your wisest move would be to get a generic name that will show up well on search engines.

As you are probably aware 90% + of property searches start on the i nternet..!

If you have millions for an ad campaign you're better off buying a few good generics for £100K+

Just out of interest...how do you intend to compete with the big boys....rightmove and findaproperty control the market. They are backed by the tabloids...there are many small guys but they dont deliver the results...if you have a unqiue angle I would be interested in backing it....is your work for a client or an idea you have?

Yes, I do have two ideas that make it different from the other portals....however I'm going to try and go it alone. I have taken on board everything that has been written regarding my search and I really do appreciate it. I've spent a fair bit on the web site....and unfortunately I don't have a £100k for advertising and domain name purchase. My budget is less than £1000 - I should still get something reasonable for that.....shouldn't I?
I'll wait a little longer....you never know!
If some of you purchased my mobile phone numbers, my budget would go up somewhat!!
