Yes nice sales

injuryclaims .co.uk is a very nice domain - buyer's done well

last week dnjournal.com also reported the sale of hairspray.co.uk at $26,000 which is a very nice sale

I actually think injuryclaims.co.uk sold very very cheap

Category killer .co.uk name, in an industry paying £100's for just leads !

Brilliant price for the buyer for certain !

Well you can't hold on to them forever and £10k+fees+vat was a reasonable price for a domain that has certain restrictions on its use

Someone has dropped one almighty bollock letting that go so cheap I fear.

You could make the argument though that its most domainers making the mistake and pricing at unrealistic levels and selling almost nothing.

At first I thought it looked cheap, looking at the traffic (5,400 last month according to Google), it looks an okay price, not the bargain instincts were telling me it was going to be.

It's worth what someone is willing to pay for it !!

In the future maybe could have sold it for 50k or 100k who knows but right now that is what it is worth .

It just like land right now domains are out in the sticks lots of land( domains ) around for cheap prices until we get more people moving into this Market and demand increases thats the way it will stay .

The only other way to increase value Is to develop build houses on it ... Or like insurance.com build a business on it which then means it's worth lots.

So for example if it was earning 5k a month in affiliate commission then it would have sold for far more because people could see ... It's the difference between a plot and a house !!

google exacts != traffic

Its a reasonable starting place, and in finance sites I don't think I own a single one where the Google exacts isn't higher than the real life ones..

I think it was a distinctly average sale - its in no way the bargain some people have made out.

couldnt agree more on the exacts front, so much is made of "exacts" and they have proven to me time and time again to be a load of bollocks. Achieved top rankings on 11,000 exact site CPC £20 and gets 9 UV on average per day. That is exacts for you.

I used to get 1 or 2 hits a day so although I wasn't jumping for joy I was happy with the price, which is what counts.

I think the only data worth trusting is if you already operate in the niche you can probably make a good guess at it.

The other one would be running Adwords campaigns, and burning time/money doing it. That method isn't so bad if you know domain x is available at $y, but if its an auction or something you end up throwing away money on a domain you never get to buy :(

Or if someone wants to sell a domain but will only say they want "offers", you go do some Adwords stuff, come back with a more than fair offer, but they want a sky high price - yet more money wasted...

The only hope you have with a lemon like that is throw it up for sale and let someone else not do their due diligence and start valuing it on the 11k figures, lol
