Coming back to the start of the thread, the new owner is going to save a genuine fortune on advertising. With the semi-scammy perception of many companies in the "scrap gold" space, imagine being able to say "Gold.co.uk - The Gold Standard" or whatever the new catchphrase will be. Since all the companies in the space are essentially "no namers" since they've only come into existence in the last few years and are not household names, Gold.co.uk becomes the de-facto leader in the space as soon as it launches.

Thanks Scott - It took a while for Jack to crack though, as in 8 months+ (I'm guessing circumstances changed).

I originally made contact with Jack when i saw the very first gold advert on tv, which at the time I believe was PostalGold - Jack was replying with £100K+ offers and even back then i was seriously thinking.... shall i shan't i ???

I done everything in my power to make sure Gold.co.uk didn't go auction as i knew it would sell for a lot more money if it did - The negotiation process was interesting to say the very least, there were times when i thought the sale wasn't going to happen but thankfully it did

A nice domain. I looked at it a while ago and i think to make money it's going to need a lot of work to get it out there and make work, as well as branding too as a sell your/ buy gold site because I don't think users searching for 'gold' are not the target market if you want to make money from buying and selling gold.

People looking to invest in gold and people wanting to sell their gold tat are two ends of the spectrum.

I am lucky enough to have a 0.25% share in an virtual online gold company thats just been valued at 55 million and I know that talking to the founder replication of such services is very difficult so I wish you best of luck.

That said its a fantastic name for the Gold site - good luck with it.
