What would you say was the going rate for reasonable size and reasonably affluent towns of 25,000 people?

I guess geographical .co.uk town names must crop up as there are a lot of towns around.

Obviously I'm interested because I own

Berkhamsted.co.uk

Both that, and Berkhamsted.info, which I've developed a bit, appear near the top of page 1 google. I aslo have the .org.uk and .org

But my question's more general: what - across the country - do you reckon 'a town'.co.uk is likely to sell for on average?

Anything from a few hundreds to tens of thousands, depending on if it is a popular tourist destination or just a commuter town of no particular interest to anyone except those who happen to live there.

I know from stats on a busy UK site that the town recieves an average amount of traffic for the population in relation to the rest of the UK - some places get a great deal more (e.g. Edinburgh) whilst other proper town names are rarely used.

Thus I would say that, unfortunately, the domain is likely in the £250 to £1000 range - probably the low part of that. The place is not big enough to justify a lot of investment, sorry.
