Getting ready for the Black Friday sales...

Dell also have the discount code ESLUK active on the high end stuff, and I believe the 3yr warranty is half price on many models, so if these can be stacked worth a look.

I'm after a large, 55"+ 4K TV this year.....let's see how things go!

Oh yes... me also if the price and brand are right... ! Preferably one that comes with a suitably good quality home cinema system too!!!

Either that or top end HD projector - I can live with having to get a wall replastered pre-Xmas...!

Yes. ESLUK gives 12% off some of the Alienware, and some also have £100 cashback going as well so you can end up saving £300-400 or more depending on how high a spec you’re considering.

All the Dell deals end just before Black Friday, but whether they will outdo them on BF itself is a mystery.

BTW they also have a flat 15% student discount off all the Dell Outlet stuff (ie the refurbished systems)

It was an Alienware I was looking at, I'm not sure I can live with going back to 32gb ram, and no idea why they limited a gaming machine to 2 sticks of 16gb ram.

I didn't know about the 15%, does that apply to ALL the outlet stuff ? The downside with the outlet is the warranty, on new Dell will go to about 9 yrs warranty, on some outlet stuff you get 12 months and thats your lot, least thats what it was last time I looked.

I think the 15% student discount applies to everything in the Outlet, but it’s a limited time offer (at least they phrase it that way) although I haven’t found what the time limit is.

You get 12 months warranty on the “certified refurbished” and “new” stuff in the Dell Outlet, but not on the stuff that’s “scratched”. But to compensate, Dell make the scratched stuff cheaper if the same machine is available both scratched and refurbished.

NOTE: None of the above are gaming machines except, at a pinch, the last one.

Please double-check the specs and T&C that apply to the particular machine you're interested in (you can see the discount conditions by following the "View all configurations" link from the detail page for any particular laptop, then looking for the one that matches the spec. Convoluted, I know, but Dell don't make it easy!)

Appreciated @Edwin

Going to have a read through some of those specs, it's been a few years since I bought a TV so an increase from my 46" Sony is on the cards :)

If you want to push the boat much, much further out (mid-Atlantic?) there's a decent amount of love for my £1,529.10 deal thread on a 55" OLED TV...
https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lg...ra-hd-hdr-oled-tv-152910-wcode-currys-2831233

Oh, and going on the dubious assumption that higher model numbers = better, this one didn't look bad...

If you do decide to buy a TV from Currys/PC World you can get 1.5% of your spend back via TopCashback at the moment. (Or 5% on Samsung TVs, but that's until the end of the day today)

How big an SSD, roughly? Sata or M.2 or NVMe? Evo or Pro?

Another 500GB or 1TB Samsung Evo (or Pro) SATA.

Here you go. Best prices I can find at the moment. Note that there's a deal on at the moment to get a free copy of Assassin's Creed Origins (PC version) with the EVO drives, but only from certain retailers. So I've given you two options, depending on whether you want the game or not... Of course it won't actually be free because the drives are more expensive, so it's down to if you want to pay the difference as the cost of the game.

Samsung 850 Evo 500GB (with free Assassins Creed Origins PC version game, delivered via code):
£148.99 (Currys/PC World): https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/compu...evo-2-5-internal-ssd-500-gb-10116701-pdt.html

Samsung 850 Evo 500GB (just the drive, no game):
£137.99 (Amazon): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00P73B1E4/?tag=acorn06-21

Samsung 850 Pro 500GB
£209.70 (Amazon): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LF10KTO/?tag=acorn06-21
£200.00+£4.05 delivery (Amazon Marketplace, stated "New" condition): https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LF10KTO/?tag=acorn06-21

Samsung 850 Evo 1TB (with free Assassins Creed Origins PC version game, delivered via code)
£300.98 (CCLOnline): https://www.cclonline.com/product/1...-2-5-Inch-Internal-Solid-State-Drive/SSD0107/

Samsung 850 Evo 1TB (just the drive, no game)
£287.69 (Overclockers): https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...olid-state-drive-mz-75e1t0b-eu-hd-193-sa.html
£289.98 (Amazon - if you prefer their customer service): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00P738MUU/?tag=acorn06-21 )

Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
£399.00 (Amazon): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LF10KTE/?tag=acorn06-21

Even if you don't buy now, you at least have a firm target to aim at come Black Friday.

Now down to £566.10 if you use the code "BFTV10" instead. It's not a huge difference, but it's another £18 saved on top of the previous discount.

I've decided that 65" is what we "need" :D So am scouring HUKD several times per day :)
