Hi All

GETFIT.CO.UK

Paid £3100 for this on sedo a while back.

Keep on Hmm'ing about actually developing it.

Its a superbly brandable domain for the health and fitness sector.

The fitness bootcamp market is exploding as people desert gyms.
or
Fitness equipment is pretty high end stuff.

Its suitable for a whole range of stuff...

IMHO its worth more than I paid but what do you think?

Hi Tom, this has got to be one of the best fitness domains in the industry, not sure I would have bought it because I would rather buy pure generics.

On here I don't think you would get a great deal but to an end user it could be 10k to 15k mate, just remember that approaching end users cost time and money.

Maybe wait for a Sedo featured auction ie, fitness.

Good luck

On the surface it seems quite good - but not quite as simple as that... as both getfit.net and getfit.com are used and rank reasonably well.

We run around 30 sites that cover a large proportion of the fitness market outside of your "ivillage or handbag users" in the UK (around 1.2m users last month) and getting those sites ranked is not so easy.

The users are a funny set too - they demand the latest fitness and exercise articles - otherwise they go to other sites - so customer loyalty is always an issue unless you can dedicated yourslef to the site as a 'main' project.

The biggest factor is that most users are there for information - they want to find out how to workout or exercise rather than buy something. This is the biggest issue IMHO.

Affiliate-wise - supps and equipment especially suffer from big competition for rankings. The fitness equipment market now operates on extremely small margins - and users will ditch you for the sake of £5 saving on a £3000 piece of kit!

I like the domain - Tom knows that - and I agree to the RIGHT end user Tom may see 5 figures, but within Acorn - I believe a price of between £2000 - £3000 is about right as a top price.

Cheers
TW
