Wanted: Domain Appraisal footballscores.co.uk

Hi have this domain name..just wondering what you guys think its worth?

Over 368,000 searches in google alone for March according to uk keyword tool.

I admit I'm not a domain name 'valuation' expert so just looking from some advice from those in the know. Any ideas?

That's a coincidence, I was looking at your domain just last night, no idea on value, but I like the name. I see you have the .com as well and they are old domains registered since 97 and 99, so that will add to the value, I notice you have not monetised the sites with affiliate betting banners and the like, any reason for that? What sort of traffic do they get?

I don't like it, because it's too good.

What I mean is that I have names like "freednatest///co///uk and in 3-4 weeks it's at the top of the search engines and making cash.

That name will take some real good seo work and a lot of time to get to the top of the search engines. You are competiting with names like Sky and BBC, which is not good indeed very hard to fight against.

May need a lot of investment to make work.

But all the best whether selling or developing it.

The .com version of the name is result number 21, top of page 3 on Google.co.uk (the web) for the term "football scores", I didn't check any other terms, but as GreyWing says, getting it to page one might be a struggle against the big boys:

travelmatch.co.uk or something went for 10k on sedo apparently, so any estimate might be miles out.

Only genuine way of knowing it's worth is to ask for offers.

I'd say that .co.uk is going to be worth around 30% or what the value for the .co.uk + .com would be worth together.

Also, must watch out for copyright if you intend to publish premier league and other select football fixtures / match previews - you have to acquire a license. Great name though, but before you plan too much remember can cost > £10k for the rights.

thanks for those replies. the actual livescore feed is not cheap. looking at around £4k-£6k for up to date feed.

So all in all not cheap.

I'd be suprised if it went for more.

Actually for the pair (.co.uk and .com) i'd say £2k - £3k.

Really wouldnt be an amazing amount of SEO work to get it ranking well on page 1.
