I dont know much about twitter, just had a little look.... how exactly does it work and how easy would it be to have a feed?

Two options for a Twitter feed:

1. Showcase the 'tweets' of a few selected football pundits/players/reputable news sources, for an example see:
Twit Parade - UK Celebrities on Twitter

2. Use a feed script that uses keywords you specify to pick up relevant 'tweets', but unless you can tailor the keywords enough you may pick up a load of rubbish.

Option 1 would be better IMO...

How you get it on your site depends on how you intend to build, there are a few extensions for CMS's, Joomla etc. Someone else here might have a better idea of how you add it on a site.

Quite how long Twitter is going to last is another thing...

I don't think there are enough football players with public feeds to make it very useful; I was thinking of doing another version of TwitParade it for sports, now that I have the core tech built and stable it would only take a day to get a new version with different people up and running. I looked into it and very, very few are out there.

There are probably plenty of influential and close connected fans to make a gossip feed work, but it would also be filled in with their day-to-day "I'm off to the shops" type stuff. Would ned a lot of pruning. Maybe linked with some keyword analysis before displaying the tweet? hmmm...

The best way would be to find and join the main forums for all the clubs you want to focus on and go through them everyday. But very manual..

Steve your comments are appriciated, I feel that even the useless info that goes on would be good i.e "mark is going to the shops" My girlfriend sits on facebook all day looking at peoples profile updates so weather she is just sad or people are generally interested in other peoples gossip is another thing!!
