Wanted: Domain Appraisal Flyinq/com

Hi Everyone,

Would love to know people's thoughts on this one -

Flyinq/com

That's a letter Q, by the way, at the end.

I think it could make a great travel related brand. I notice bookinq/com has had 22 bids, so I thought it would be worth a punt.

I'm thinking that perhaps the tick on the end of the letter q (lower case) could be the contrail of an aircraft, perhaps with a plane flying up and away from the word. I'm seeing a loop in the contrail where the plane did a loop-the-loop.

Maybe with the strapline Flyinq/com - the only Q is in the name, or something like that.

Perhaps even an online booking system for all the major airlines. Effectively, a free booking-in portal (plus advertising !!).Works well with the strapline.

Just for some background info, 'Flights' gets 1.8 million exact monthly global matches, bookings gets 74,000. I think it would make a great flight-related brand.

I've taken the following other extensions, so I could offer it as a brand opportunity -

.co.uk, net, org, mobi, info, .us

Oh well, do others see potential here ?

Blimey, you had me there til you pointed out it was a Q

Not keen on this one Steve, as it doesn't have the complete keyword "flying" in it. And I think "flights" or "tickets" are the money-words in this sector, not "fly"

At the moment, flights are paying very low or even zero commissions to affiliates (margins are tight), so if you're going to build a site I'd include hotels and other related products

I see what you mean about it as an affiliate website propoition.

I had a bit of a crazy idea. I was thinking potentially brand as opposed to keyword. I thought about offering a free online check-in portal for all the major airlines - so if you need to check-in online just go to Flyinq and hit the appropriate tab to go straight to your check-in page.

Hence, the only Q is in the name.

If it worked I'd monetize it through additional advertising.

I've always found checking in online to be a real pain finding the right page.

Oh well, if I'm barking up the wrong tree never mind.

I feel for you mate! I've got a ton of names that seemed a great idea at the time - they're the hardest to let go! I'm still convinced that BO-OB.com is gonna make me a million one day

No harm in sticking it on Sedo and seeing if anyone bites. I'm gradually adding all mine to Whypark - see if they'll earn a few pennies before they expire

The thing with development is, imagine if you spent all that time (and money) on one of your better names. How much more return on investment is that likely to generate?
