It's my birthday on the 5th Nov, so I don't mind my subjects celebrating it with fireworks.

also a lot of these small venues are as dangerous.
take pubs and alike . there are some very well run ones where safety is paramount, been to some good ones, but some very dangerous and badly run.

just better all round imo to have well run public displays which have the most amazing shows.
all areas have them & they're safer too.
where i live the local fire station organises & runs a huge one, its always great & proceeds go to charity too. only a fiver e4ach and that would buy crappy ones if doing at home.

As kids we used to make our own fireworks from basic stuff from the chemist, they where really pathetic but alot of fun. The things you get today are more like explosives.

November 5th, sell them on the day and not before. But they sell them up to Christmas and New Year now.

Sounds like Basra round here for the last week, ever noticed why it's the poor people trying to make the biggest bang, Peasants!

Is it just me or have the size of the bonfires grown since last year when the bins were emptied weekly instead of fortnightly.

Passed one today with 50 ft of black bin bags on it, when I was a kid it used to be wood the powered these things.

I'm out early tomorrow. It'll be dodge the gardener looking for cheap potash for the rhubarb!!

Just got in.. ambulances and fire engines all over the place. Guess there will be a few less people next year.
