If you are catching domain names which are fairly generic, but not sure what the keywords would be i have found a solution.

I have found it quite useful.

You might too, or might not (or it could be already well known)... any how.

if you go to : http://web.archive.org/

enter the domain name you want to check, it will search for copies of any site stored on that domain name. You can then use that to work out the best words.

It can be a little time consuming, so if you just chuck names in sedo / namedrive and leave them, then this wont help. But if you have names with lots of visits and no clicks this could help :)

Let me know if this site is helpful.

Cheers

Good tip Simon, have been doing this for a while, it certainly lets you see what the domain was used for before. I have even found hit counters on some!

I have found the tool sometimes helpful as an extra step for verifying traffic, used with other tools you can take a look at the past development and work out whether the traffic stats the seller has sent you seem to be inline with the past developement of the page.
