Wanted: Domain Appraisal DundeeFC.com

Hi all,

I want to offload this domain. Any ideas of a ballpark? I guess whatever it is would be more if they won a few matches

(only joking, I have no idea if they are any good at football or not).

Not sure on value but they're top of League 1 right now - I'd probably hold it as if they're promoted it should be worth a good bit more than what its worth today?

I couldn't see one but didn't spend long checking.

It could still be passing off without being a trademark though.

I could be wrong, but I think there are 3 potential problems that will limit the value of the domain -

1. As has been mentioned, there's the pass off issue.

2. You have one potential buyer. Not always a bad thing, but competition drives the price up and if they don't want it, then it could be worthless.

3. I'm pretty sure Dundee FC have been in administration at least twice in the last 10-15 years. Scottish football doesn't have a great deal of money in the first place, but this is one club that probably doesn't have deep pockets.

Number 2 would be true if it was a 'normal' business name... but because its football that logic goes out the window. There are a huge amount of fan blogs, independent news sites and so on.

They're not likely to pay anywhere near what the 'real' team would pay though.

I have some team-specific football news/blog sites, but personally I wouldn't touch it - just seems like a headache in waiting.
