Had previous appraisal thread for this but just wanted to get other peoples opinions on this again, few potential offers received, around 8k direct visits a month, had a solid offer of $23,500 - thoughts?

Nope, it's had the same site on for the last 6 months or so and hasn't been updated since I launched it.

Personally, I don't know much about domains compared to a lot of people on here, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could get more.

I listen to a good bit of electronic dance music (EDM) and over the last few years dubstep is starting to get used more and more in songs.

I've even noticed dubstep on some TV adverts (can't remember which ones!) which goes to show how mainstream it's starting to get. Maybe Skrillex might want to buy it since he's the biggest name when it comes to dubstep, I'm sure $20k+ is very little for him. He might want it to make sure that he stays the biggest name in dubstep?

I would take the offer or keep the domain and try to monetize it yourself.

Cracking name and got lots of potential.

Ps.. Anyone who like dubstep, try Netsky, good tunes.

Give it a year.

I read somewhere recently that a number of top Dubstep guys are being offered contracts by US labels to boost dubstep in the US. I'm sure DJ Fresh was involved but anyway regardless of who is involved there is finance behind it and there will be a swell over there for dubstep,

It's getting more popular in the US and if it takes off in the way I expect it too your offer of $23k will look a bit crap this time next year.

On the other hand i'd find that sum pretty difficult to turn down!

A lot of music now has a short peak lifespan if you can moniterise and take the name further then why sell..? if you can’t but could with a another name sell and buy that one... You could try and spread your risk by offering a sale with future % royalties or even a lease but there hard to convince potential buyers unless you offer something in return i.e. lower initial sale price etc offer is not brilliant buy a long shot but really depends if you can take things to another level yourself...? and if you need the money ? I'd say research is the key are there any big events, who the sponsors are record labels, magazine tie inns etc the more knowledge you have the better chance you have of achieving a much higher price

Personally, I would be giving serious consideration to that offer.

I'm seeing these two sales at dnsaleprice.com:

RapVideos com $70,000 Oct 07 Moniker/Traffic 2 9 N N http://RapVideos.com Moniker

BattleRap com $50,000 Sep 05 Moniker/DomainSystems

You'll probably be able to find more music related sales.

I would say that Dubstep is about as big as it will get and is probably on the wane, therefore I would sell now.

What!? you've just showed two worse names that are 2 to 3 times the offer he recieved lol

If anything from what you posted you should be saying, i wouldn't consider the offer look for more

Well, I was just trying to find a few examples quickly to help the guy out. Also, those sales are quite old, when the market was more frothy.

Normally in a negotiation, I would counter-offer above what I had been offered to try and suss out how much the buyer is prepared to pay.

I do think the point about selling the domain whilst dubstep is hot is a good point.
