Drop Domains Feed

I have just launched a new site (DNviper) and have daily drop lists available the day before the drop (only available to verified members).

Dan - site looks good, but I didn't like seeing the following in your FAQ. It would strongly put me off placing a backorder for a niche domain which only a limited number of others may have known about, knowing that it will then be auctioned off afterwards.

If more than one customer has attempted to backorder an expiring name and DNViper.co.uk has successfully caught it, it will automatically be put into an auction with all interested parties immediately notified.

Gives others a chance to bid and acquire (that have booked).

I don't think it goes to a public auction like DomainLore?

Good point, if that's the case then fair enough as the other parties would have already known about the name. If it does go public though then as a customer I wouldn't be too happy, I prefer the standard first come first served model operated by other catchers.

It would almost be equally as bad as an experience on here recently. I requested a £30 no catch no fee drop and a catcher contacted me saying they had nothing booked for that day. After hearing what the name was they then said it's booked but if successful they expected £500+ for it... needless to say I won't be booking anything with them again :)

Ouch!

The worst part of having a catch system open to others is authorising all those good names you've missed :(

I don't mind private auction between those who have booked it, but public auction is a great business idea, just really lame.

I would be very interested in hearing more about this as well, especially as if these lists are simply put together or if the data is pulled from somewhere.
