Hi there, I have been doing SEO and web design for years now but very interested in the capturing of domains and recently picked up a great domain for making a site similar to snapnames. I am also lucky because I can program my own applications and websites.

I was wondering where websites like:

www.unwanted-domain-names.co.uk
www.snapnames.com
www.pool.com

Might get their lists from. I am guessing the 1st one geets their list direct from Nominet or from namesco because it seems they are affiliated with them.

Any ideas how or where I can conjure up a domain name feed?

Thanks in advance
biGGsy

Funnily enough,I actually just rang nominet and they said that they dont give out drop lists so these websites must be getting them somewhere else. Now I can sign up for a service which I am quite happy to do and pay £12.99 a month or whatever but I would still really like to know where these websites are getting their data from?

Cheers

Drop lists are usually home brew affairs and closely guarded, the Nominet T&C's were changed a while back excluding selling of lists, so you're unlikely to find them for sale.

they wont be for sale on a big website like domainlore, but most prob if you get friends with someone who has a big list of there own then they would most prob sell it to you. for around that price. out of everyone who has lists, i wont believe that noms message about not selling lists would have stopped everyone. ....just my view

There are still websites that offer drop lists, so it can still be done within their t&cs.

As Alex said, any website offering lists will have been collated by the owner, nominet don't release information like that.

As suggested, there are drop lists, but to comply with the revised T&C's (http://www.nominet.org.uk/other/dac/daccontractterms/) there's a 1000 name limit on distribution (5.3.6), which in effect limits you to doing a daily list.

We used to do weekly & monthly drop lists, but stopped when the T&C's were changed, nobody's asked for daily drop lists.

Is there any sites that offer with the drop order of dropping domains ?

i'm keen to pay for lists... so if anyone sells lists... get in touch... or if anyone knows anyone who sells lists... again, get in touch :)

The drop order is RANDOM (which is one of the things that makes the .co.uk drops hard) - domains can drop any time from 00:00-23:59 on the day they're due to drop!

If anyone has on going suspended domain lists for sale would you please drop me a PM

Hi All

I have just launched a new site (DNviper) and have daily drop lists available the day before the drop (only available to verified members).

I've also added a keyword monitor feature that will alert you by email when a domain is dropping that matches any of your keywords.

For example add these keywords: design, loan, internet or online (limited by your imagination). and when sheffieldwebdesigner.co.uk dropped yesterday you would have received an email letting you know.

Would love to get some more feedback as the website is currently in Beta stage

Cheers

Dan

Seconded, it looks extremely impressive. It will be something of a revelation when it goes live...
