What is everyone referring to? Not been on here for a while...

if you take a spin past Domainlore and look at recent sales, Dougs is collecting EMDs at an accelerated rate.

Hi everyone



The plan guys:

We own www.idealprice.co.uk and www.carrentals.co.uk and many other type such sites round the globe in many sectors.

To make them work we had to build a very very clever engine to show the right results to the right people at the right time etc etc.....and also had to build google analytics on steroids so as to track everything from initial visitor to final sale that links all traffic sources to all external merchants/affiliate networks etc and then adjust the prices we are willing to pay for traffic on various sources.....we have some very smart people working on this for over a year. Our guys have spent time with google to help build this and it has turned into a decent business for us Many people ask to use the product but as yet we have said no.......potentially we may launch it for other people to use.

As we have launched more and more sites round the world it has become obvious that EMD type domains gives us a slight increase in click through rates for certain types of traffic....hence increasing our roi.

Thus we decided to buy many emd domains for many sectors and in many countries/languages. The beauty is we don't have to pay anything for a single domain if we do not wish to. To do this we have now had to build a manage system to control a huge number of domains centrally.

This will either turnout to be a great idea or a waste of lots of cash and many peoples times But it has been great fun and massive learning for so many of our staff.

If it does not work anyone want to buys loads of domains

There are lot more sources of traffic than ppc and google

We do lots lots more traffic from display nowadays.

EMD's just add a slight bit more trust

Plus many places we buy from do not want us to be buying all traffic from them and sending it to a few large sites as it makes them appear to only have us as the only partner buying traffic from them. In some cases we are though

True - we've been trying Outbrain recently. But I'll clarify as "paid traffic" if that makes you feel better

Outbrain is great if you have viral type articles to advertise, works out quite cheap.
