Give the guy a break.

All he was asking for was some advice about domain transfer, as he has never sold a domain before.

When i first started i learnt lots through this forum, he is just trying to do the same.

Agreed, it will be more beneficial for the member in question and the forum as a whole. Remember, we all had to start somewhere.

Please stay on topic people!

thanks for the answers guys, surely they could make this process quicker, and also i am a touch concerned on anyone being able to view the whois register, this must be a security risk? is there anyway of bypassing leaving sensitive details online.....

The process is quite quick already the form is simple to complete and then you fax / scan & email or post to the buyer who then posts it to Nominet, this only 1 working day if you send the form to the buyer electronically and they use 1st class post. The main thing is that it's a secure process and you can't (easily) loose your domain.

Why is it a security risk? If you are a company, then your details are public anyway, if your a non-trading individual, then you can opt out of whois. If you are selling more than just the occasional domain, then it could be argued by the tax man that you are trading.

If you are really concerned about your address being public, then register a PO Box or get a maildrop/forwarding address.
