Domain Monster premium domains

This isn't anything un-usual guys. The registrys release TM domains not taken in Sunrise and consumers buy them. No registrars can say they don't sell them; of course they do if they are available to sell! If the registry says its available, then the consumer can buy it.

There is a difference here, as its not you saying "these are free to register" but "we have these for sale ourselves". The source of the names is not relevant for that, it is still 'you' that is selling TM names.

The important bit here is we don't intentionally "trade" in TM's and don't want too. However if we have stock we get left with, of course we are going to sell them to the highest bidder (TM Brand owner excluded per earlier post). Thats business and why we end up with these names in the first place.

Well, you get left with them you then have a choice if to let them expire 'naturally' or list them for sale - thats your choice.

1) Retain names till expiry and let drop (Then others will re-buy)

I would go with that one, it wont make you any money (fraud costs being cost of doing business) , but one benefit of running a business is that you dont always have to take the £ :)

You see that as shifting the problem, and in a way it is. However you say experience tells me it isn't, we just place them back into the hands of the wrong people who buy them as drops, whereas placing them in the hands of someone buying them for $7500 is fine?! Is the difference in price between dropcatching slots and the $7500 the price of ethics ;)

if someone is crazy enough to buy a TM at a high price, they might get their fingers burn't and pushed out of the market for the benefit of all of you.

....

One thing I want to be very clear about guys, is that I joined this thread to do the right thing for our business and YOU (Who have made our business!!).

I dont think aiming to get third parties sued to bankruptcy is a realistic, nor great sales tactic :) Likewise, *any* TM name for sale such as sonyplaystation.asia cannot in any way be the right thing and does tarnish the reputation of anyone involved domain names - be it domain traders / catchers / developers / registries / isps / joe bloggs in the street etc etc.

Hopefully this feedback is useful :)

Also, alot of people are not aware of domain name TM rules. They may think it is fine to purchase these names as a reputable registrar is selling them with no warning to the buyer.

I had not thought of that, but to a consumer reading :

However, at Domainmonster.com we hold "stock" of some of the best Domains that are for sale and make them available for you to buy in seconds at their current market value.

The seeing sonyplaystation.asia for $1750 would imply thats the 'current market value', that its premium etc and could be a decent investment - much at odds with it being hotter than the sun and could be a massive liablity.

There is a responsibility when it comes to sales and online info, and I do believe that business can be done with a good balance all round.

I tend to agree with you Mathew, but will let the Product guys make the ultimate decision on Monday. My concern is that we simply shift the problem, rather than address it for the sake of wiping our hands clean, but there is little we can do about that.

I the meantime, I've asked someone in our NOC to remove these names along with a udate and parcel2go one that I noticed. They may not disappear from the download file instantly as turns out this is built from the data source automatically once per day, but they will be removed from the search.

I trust this is a suitable interim solution until the right people our end can properly review on Monday. If we end up re-posting them, I will advise to this thread first for better or worse! Thanks again for permitting me to debate this post so elegantly (Particularly Rob and Mathew. Good valid comments and appreciated). Matt

Bad monster !!!

Seriously, i'm a regular with yourselves and find your view on selling TMs both shocking and ridiculous.

Suggestion : cancel them, you know how to.
Alternative : yes sell them unless the owner says pretty please with a UDRP and then claims for damages £??,???

I thought you were a professional business

People on here are giving you sound advice, so listen and give your product guys a kick up the ass.

Would an army surplus shop sell re-activated guns = NO

What your saying is dodgy dave sells re-activated guns on the carboot so why shouldn't our established army surplus store ?
and if the police ask for them will just hand them over lol

Good luck !!!
