Hi there,

I have now decided to offer my services as a domain broker. I am more than willing to help you out if you need to sell your domains.

If you are interested in utilizing my services please forward me a list of the domains you wish to sell and also what commission you are offering.

I will reply to all PMs.

(If this is in the wrong section please move)

Thanks,

Nick.

Hi Nick,

What are you offering here? Just negotiation, or getting leads too i.e. contacting loads of people/ companies who may be interested?

Can you supply any credentials - details of previous deals you have secured etc.? In short, what have you got to offer that the seller couldn't do himself?

Also one thing I have wondered about brokers is how do you resolve the following dilemma? Someone who is selling a domain approaches various parties who might be interested in it, and then hears about you. So they ask you to also try and sell it on the basis that you might be able to sell it for more than the other potential buyers are offering, but if not there's nothing to lose as you only get commission if you organise a sale. It seems like an offer that can only benefit the seller. But what happens if both you and the seller contact the same potential buyer independently and he agrees to buy? The seller would be reluctant to pay commission as he would believe that he organised the deal. But from your perspective the seller might look as though he's double-crossed you - stolen the lead you lined up and not paid your commission.

Now I know something like this would probably not happen regularly, but the aftermarket domain industry is quite a small world and it is bound to crop up now and then.

Thanks,

Jason

Would be interested to know this aswell...

Ok, so what am I offering. Basically, I am targetting people who want to sell their domains but perhaps don't know how. Owners who don't know where to look for buyers, what their domain is worth etc etc. On the basis of this, crossing paths in terms of contacting the same people as the domain owner themselves would largely be avoided.

This would mean that by working with 'inexperienced' domain owners I, or anyone else doing the same thing, would be able to achieve a good price for everyone involved.

In terms of credentials I do not have them many completed sales worth mentioning as I have not been in the business that long, but my biggest name to date is listed in my signiture (a sale which I am currently working on).

Hope this clarifies some things for you both :)

I might be wrong, but didnt the first version of the Kylie thread imply you were going to buy it and were working on the price, rather than acting as a broker?

Sorry for any confusion but I was working on the minimum the domain owner wanted in order for me to market it on his behalf at a price not lower than he expected.

By asking for appraisals I was wondering what you guys with more experience in domain appraisal thought this domain could achieve.

Do you have a specific list of industry based contacts, or domainers, that you would approach or would you do like most people by contacting related businesses and try to sell?

I am interested in someone doing this for a bunch of domains I have. I have quite a high experience of selling, worked cold calling for a number of years with quite a bit of success but selling domains is definately a different business!

Most successful domain sold was for low £x,xxx and that was through cold calling.

What could you add in to the mix that I could not already do, or contacts I do not have?
