You keep trying Edwin, but read rest of the post first, and finally could even be done on Guardian, with technology and yes for £10 per domain mate. Think about it.
Why not outline the math, if you really believe it works.
For example...
of the X number of people who view a page
2% click on a banner
2% of the people who clicked the banner buy something (a domain name)
That means X*0.02*0.02 people buy something.
Or in other words, it takes 2,500 visitors to make one sale.
At £10/sale (and assuming a 50/50 split with the site in question) that makes £5/2,500 visitors or £2 CPM.
That's not even remnant advertising level for quality web properties.
(Related aside: I've been monetising websites since 1996 so I have a pretty firm idea of what I'm talking about!)
