Hello,

I have made copy for my website and come up in organic searches - possibly others might have more technical skill although I have studied somewhat - on the other hand, I am a native English teacher and could probably write quite well. Rate is £15/hr pro rata, so for example 45 minutes total would be £11.25.

Just a tip, people usually charge per 500 words etc.

Problem is if they pay per hour things get complicated. For example does that 45 minutes include research time, making a cup of tea, firing up the old typewriter?

You'll find many buyers are more comfortable with this method.

Yes, it is a fair point - I would be prepared to work on the basis, that if it was felt to take too long or not be up to standard, that I would not be paid, as long as it was not used.

If anyone's interested, at my day job we hire freelance writers for contributing to some travel sites that we run. It basically entails photographing attractions all over the UK and writing about them. So far we've hired around 40 people on a freelance basis and have amassed more than 10,000 attractions on the site (everything from museums to zoos to even smaller 'attractions' such as churches, sports facilities, etc.) Drop me a PM if interested... it doesn't pay all that highly but gets people out and about, earning a few £s along the way. Works really well with students and SAHMs.
