I disagree. The 'Classic' bit suggests that you are trying to attract people interested in old/2nd hand mercs so as long as your content and advertisers reflect this you should be okay. You may need to monitor what adsense is put on and block any that are for brand new cars.

Exactly what I was thinking +1

Think of it like this:
Would you have rgd it had mercedes never exsisted?

Nope. Its still a trademark infringement, but if you are confident of taking on Mercedes lawers feel free to crack on. I know for a fact any half competant domainer would not touch anything that could be easily be served a cease notice.

Edit:
I could say the same about a domain I own: hooverrobots.com. I could say I am trying to attract a sub market, but ultimitly I am still using a trademark either way you cut the cake.

The trademark etc inclusion makes any defense tricky it doesn’t matter if there new, old, broken, parts or to an extent even what you sell etc there take is it is trading on there good name, would likely cause confusion and or misrepresentation (With made up words this is even harder to justify) then its up to nom or whoever e.g. new Cayman D00011035 *there could be lots of contributing factors as to the decision but you would have thought that you could argue the registration is for new people for the Cayman island..? and porscheused D00010993 that doesnt describe or indicate they are new in the slightest same as “classic” if you had nothing to do with the brand or associated products etc maybe you'd win ? but who'd want them without that assoiciation... They have been registered because of the knowledge of the brand that’s were its tricky...

Just flick thru Mercedes Enthusiast or 911&Porsche magazine... which I just have to see the number of businesses using the TM's in their URL's and business names.

Cause confusion with customers about dealer locations or try pass yourself off as official and you would be in trouble. Quite rightly.

Try critique, review & compare for editorial purposes or sell 13+ year old cars and disclaim on the site clearly that you are not affiliated with the main brand and the respective brands and you should be okay.

So given this is an appraisal thread... I'm assuming that serveral people here think they are :rf or less lol

Wouldn’t say reg fee but would say unlikely sale to a domaineer or to anyone that would develop it if they were not authorized affiliated or had the green light from the trademark owners etc and as pushing them to authorized etc could end up with a drs etc I’d say flog em to a yank or a newbie :D
