A very seasonal one. GKT shows 22.2K average local exacts with almost zero searches outside of December, which using back of fag paper maths must be 200K - 250K in December.

Any suggestions for end user / reseller values?

Around 10k-20k for reseller about 100k or more for end user.

Why don't you just put a minisite or an Christmas affiliate to cash in some pennies for now?

I think that very optimistic. The problem with names like this is that they are redundant for 10-11 months of the year.

I would say low-mid £x,xxx reseller. Would probably get £xx,xxx from the right end user.

Agree with the development comments though, got to be worth a minisite at least.

i would say you are both optimistic....would you sell nationally ? delivery through the post ? the other 11 months of the year ? you could have a database of local christmas tree venders ? but would they pay £xx,xxx

hard one to value....

I suppose you could sell / affiliate artificial xmas trees and have a directory of uk tree vendors.

i think you could use this as a branded site ie christmas tree sell presents/gifts whatever easy to remeber and associates well with name .

i agree it would be difficult to value highly asa christmas tree domain since most trees are brought from Bandq and places like that not really on for the post.

but still the name is good and brandable and you have a load of exact traffic so should have value

Reseller 2k to 3k and end user 5k to 7k, 100k end user is never going to happen :???:

Also I think the plural would be better for an end user.

Upper hundreds on a very good day, IMO. The singular kills it and it's not exactly a product overly suited to being sold online.

Edit: Just thought of the whole decorations/lights angle – that changes my opinion massively. £2 – 5k as a brandable perfectly suited to selling tree related products.

the singular lends itself to a brandable (even though a generic) for a total christmas site
only problem with christmas domains is they are effectively dead 10 months a year
so never liked them
if you have like christmas savers club etc takes on a year round angle. again only an enduser can bring this to the table, so as a reseller, i wouldnt pay more than low - mid xxx not sure anyone else would
but an enduser may pay up to 5k
nice though

I owned christmascards //co//uk and found that quite hard to sell even though xmas cards are huge online.

To give you an idea, that one was low/mid 4 figures - I think the buyer would have paid more however I didnt push much as the big fish in the market had already declined it.

On christmastree i'd say high xxx , low xxxx as an estimate, plural would be low xxxx in my op.

That said..it would be very brandable as a seasonal gift site as its so memorable - if a buyer thinks the same it could be worth mid xxxx.

Cheers

Russ

Some low estimates above. The Christmas tree market must be just about £1billion per annum, not including all the stuff we put on them.

With 200k exacts in December, surely anyone could make £5k from it, even if only selling artificial trees. I'd be looking for more than that.

Namedia paid $90k for blackfridaysales.com which gets far less exacts (74k worldwide) and a shorter interest period.

To find potential buyers for the .co.uk, you need look no further than the lists of wholesalers and retailers on the .org.uk equivalent!
