Bit of a cheek but you never know there may be a nice person who'll reply!
One for regulars only please.
Anyone aware of any decent domains that are for sale that you've seen or enquired about which you've thought a great domain but you don't have the money to buy it nor envisage will.

I'm looking to buy a few prime domains upto £5k each. If I buy the domain I will pay commission.

Please don't take this as a chance to offer me crap i'm looking for a recommendation from regulars for domains which are not their own.

please pm the name.

Thanks

An interesting approach! I think we've all had at least one domain that was just out of our reach. :(

It's frustrating, I approach owners and if you are lucky enough to get any response it's someone who thinks their domain is worth 6 figures! Just thought others might had better luck but decided no thanks.

I've had a few responses, thanks to all. Ideally after something product or service related rather than brandable though. Or even unloved sites.

Trust me sean, all I'm sitting on would make your flowers bloom!
I have a couple of niche domains doing nothing that get a bit of traffic but i can't source product cheap enough and the affiliate choice is limited. I also have another name I'm thinking of turning into a business but need to do some research.
I don't have anything that motivates me in being a great idea, hence why I want to buy a name and dedicate 90% to that and 10% to what i have already.

Just curious - since a lot of folks on here own excellent domains that you could build a decent site on, why limit yourself to domains they don't own?

tbh Edwin, On the rare occassion I post in this section I get bombarded with so much crap no matter how specific I am. I could ask for .co.uks only that begin with the word black and would get offered .mobi beginning with white.

I just thought we all chase the same names and it's saving me some leg work and it's like using a recruitment agency, they narrow down the field and send you cv's which are specific to your needs. I hoped the regulars on here will know what I mean on decent names.

I've had a few pm's (thanks all) but nothing suitable. I failed to mention only interested in .co.uk's and .coms although .com probably out of my range.

I can go upto £10k. would prefer not to but if the name was good......

I'm sure i've asked about cameras before too. That's the problem we're all chasing the same names and the price probably goes up each time they get an enquiry. And unrealistically usually.
A couple of the pm's have mentioned names i've enquired about before.

I'll definitely keep my eyes open. The other problem you're facing though is that the people who are enquiring about the sorts of names you are after can probably also afford them if they're really worthwhile, so by definition you'll get the slightly more marginal names passed along. Still, I think your idea is a good one - worth a shot, anyway!

I know of a cracking name that would suit you to the ground, I made an enquiry a few weeks back but it was just out of my price range ... domain was cameras .co.uk and the asking price was an offer around £300k! PM me if you want the fellas details ;)

Not bad considering it is number 2 on google for cameras (110k exact match for cameras) and number 7 for digital cameras (1.87 million yes million exact match) plus product value can range from £30-£3000

I personally wouldn't spend £300k on it, but can see why he has asked that amount, but looking at the site, I bet it earns him less than £5k a month

Thats a site not releasing its true potential for sure !

I agree can’t see any of the major Retailers/manufactures spending 300k (probably why they still got it..?)The sums for them would never add up… That with many think that digital cameras will become obsolete thanks to the likes of nokia and mobile phones etc and 35mm etc are nearly already there....? Could it be another one keeping something too long....

Stender Have you had any good names pm you yet...

There is a guy on sedo asking 30k for 3dready.co.uk

Which would be worth it if manufacturers use the term in the same way hdready was. But that is a big big gamble and I have seen manufacturers using different terms already. But the market is young and my bet is that they will use the term later. I would have gone to 5k-7 at this stage but not more on a gamble.

But anyone fancies a pop, feel free.

Have 2 that I like but top end of budget. I need to research them.
Had quite a few pm's but mianly from people offering their own.

3Dready will only be any good if you can convert non 3D tvs otherwise you would expect a 3D tv to be 3D ready.

Just a thought 8)
