I agree I think more people would be searching for cheap cruises in the recession. My folks cruise a lot and they are always searching for a cheap cruise. They like to try different cruise ships, different cruise destinations too so they don't usually mind shopping around. But then it could be different for other regular cruisers

Nice Sale on Sledges.org.uk Frank and also great cruise domains. I would have thought the sunshine guys would be a perfect buyers for those with there bonvoyage site.

I'd be happy getting 15-20K for those separately. I'd definitely try and develop and rank them first though.

I'm thinking of doing the same for my maldives.org.uk domain, hanging onto it for a bit more as it has great age.

Out of interest how did you negotiate mid £xx,xxx or did they come in with a good offer

Well if you got 40k or similar for sledges.org.uk then cheapcruises.co.uk is worth 400K

Just look at the adwords click prices for some of the cruise terms and you will see that even though affiliate income is hard right now, cruise domains have a bright future !

My only concern from a branding point of view is, do people actually want cheap cruises in the same way they want cheap flights ?. I think they want quality cruises at bargain prices, hence cruisedeals being a good brand.

Cruise Deals is a fabulous brand for sure, but from my data there are lots of people looking for 'cheap cruises' - and it also depends on the person searching for the cruise also and their overall definition of a 'cheap cruise'. A nice cruise can be £8k so therefore a 'cheap' cruise could be £4k which is a fair whack anyway, but I totally understand what your saying

Having worked in the holiday and cruise niche I would probably value at £50k at first instance. More if there isnt a negative history and if a decent agreement with cruise cos can be had...

Went on a couple of cruises with Ocean Village whilst they were operating...around £800 each, all inclusive, visited several different countries, plenty of entertainment, informal and well looked after. Flights, good baggage allowance and meals included as well. Only way to get that kind of value/experience for your money would be to hostel it and plan a full trip for yourself and sort out your own travel, which sounds like too much work to me!

At the end of the day, last minute cruises are going to be cheap cruises. The boat's going to sail no matter what, the operators may as well fill the last cabins with people (who may spend more onboard because they got a cheap deal in the first place, but better people onboard than not anyway).
