Wanted: Domain Appraisal carhire.uk.net valuation

Great keywords for sure

But it is a .uk.net and therefore worth £xx at best

Has there ever been a decent public sale of ANY .uk.net domain name ?

I was just trying to look for any .uk.net sales, but the database I usually check is down. Anyone know of any?

The domain is quite memorable, it's easy to tell to people too which I guess has some marketing benefits.

Rgds

I think .uk.net names are highly confusing for Joe Public and actually think it is harder to tell people and for them to remember it -

I can just see the conversation now :

"is it a .uk domain or a .net" ?

"no it is a .uk.net"

"so it is carhire.net.uk" ?

"no it is carhire.uk.net"

"ah right I see, so is that www.carhire.uk.net.co.uk" ?

"arrrggghhhh"

Plus I don't think you are going to get much traffic, let alone memorabilty by "telling people" - unless you plan on walking up to every single person in Oxford Street in London, every minute of every day and personally telling them.

And then by the time you have told them, the thoughts in their head are reflecting the conversation I noted above

Sorry to sound negative, but I just say what is in my head at time of posting :)

They'll do nicely for PPC and DR campaigns but are POOOOEY for return visitors and branding purposes..

I didnt even know there was a .uk.net when did this happen?

About 10 years ago :D

EDIT: Actually I think it was longer ago than that...

All they are, are sub domains!

They own UK.NET and then sell sub domains as rented domains (if that makes sense) ;)

Same as the UK.COM

So you could buy the domain 123.com and sell domains off that with the extention 123.COM = Mobilephones.123.com

Correct me if im wrong people LOL

You're not wrong! I was aware it was a subdomain at the time I bought it. I bought it because I saw some other .uk.net ranking very highly (can't remember which), so I thought it must be worth a punt.

Interesting offers on this (sub)domain will be entertained, otherwise it looks as if I'm building a car hire site at some point (probably in the distant future ...)

i saw a hyphenated .uk.com on first page of google for s highly competitive term
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ri...s=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

however, the net is too much of a stretch imo
you can rank anything tbh, but it's not memorable enough and renewals are high and bottom line, its a sub domain which is too damn risky as literally one day, you may not be 'master of your domain'

undeveloped worth regfee imo
and most people wouldn't pay that sorry to say imho

£30 at best but only because it would look good for PPC etc.

Pred > What's you avatar all about ? It's gone from killer beast to Utopia and just as Predators is being released.

BTW, a hyphenated .uk.com ranking at number 6
