It's probably going to be a waste of time, but it's in similar situations that I've noticed people scoop up bargains in the past i.e. when the liquidators either don't know or don't care about the full value of what they're selling off. After all, their job is often to produce cash quickly to a very tight schedule.
Reminds me a bit of how I was 24 hours away from being able to scoop up a major PR9 (real PR9 from massive number of diversified incoming links not "fake PR") site for just over US$10,000 a couple of years after the .com bubble burst. Had all the documentation straight, but came a bit late to that particular party and I couldn't get the wires sorted in time from Japan to the US over a weekend and it went to somebody "local" to the auctioneers!
