I've got about 25 domains that I wish to give to business and they're going to get a service not done over, why won't they answer the emails? My sales pitch doesn't have an amount in, perhaps I need to do that this time?

I can't believe they're all ignoring me, the email is designed to work and has in the past and effectively. Perhaps it's just the Janaury blues, I've had 'em as well, bloody freezing, raiding the fridge, losing my mind, roll on Spring.

Hi Lee

I get the same "cold shoulder" treatment as well. I regged 2 generic driving school domains, did a quick search through Google and found ones similair and sent them all emails.

Not one replied, not even a "f*** off". Very bizarre.

Even a domain like liquidfertiliser.co.uk, I emailed 60 garden centres and fertiliser production companies. Not a peep.

My email was constructed in a nice and friendly way, a year or so ago i was offered a domain relating to my main business and the guy told me if I didn't buy it he would sell it to my closest rival. I told him to get lost and in the end he never renewed it so it regged it anyway. Prat.

It is hard contacting companies out of the blue, but I don't think there is any other way of doing it better, other than ringing them all up, getting a name and going to see them.

I'd be interested to hear what other members do.

regards
Justin

I cannot comment on the domain sales element but in business generally i have found it very quiet over the last couple of months and people i do business with expressing the same.

Many larger clients are not outsourding work that they would have done just 6 months ago and bringing it back 'in house' .

last time i saw it like this a recession followed........

Its usually a waste of time contacting businesses in relation to domains.

Most of them dont appreciate the value unless the domain you are selling is at the top of google for the subject matter or its getting some traffic.

Several hours later I have come to the conclusion that selling domains for purely marketing purposes is very difficult.

The thing is though, most of my sales are through instigating them myself, I think I must have been lucky getting £500s here and £800s there and £300s inbetween, but to be honest the ones I got recentiy have hardly even got a reply, nevermind. When I'm settled again I'll get back on to it. I aint worked in weeks.
