Can someone let me know if this phrase is used (My brain is playing tricks on me!)

At school the teachers hang out in the break room right?

If it is then good :)
Another little project, teacher news, diary planner, lesson fillers etc.. (always too ambitious)

or is this another few quid that I shouldn't have spent?

I guess at work you have a break room too? Am I confusing staff room? Is one for teachers - my mind is failing me...

We have a break room at my work. There is also one at my college for the teachers to use. So I think it is a good name.

Yeah I'm not sure. Might be a northern (Lancashire) thing that I haven't heard in a while but rings a bell.

Thanks anyway. Does 'Break Room' sound familiar to anyone else.

This term is widely used by companies, casinos, forums etc and is worth circa £400 IMO.

Not heard of it being called a break room before. Staff Room, Rest Room?

I'm a southerner though so we speak properly [;)]

Yep other people I asked have said they call the staff room, the 'break room'. Cheers.

Thanks for this. Not bad for a free reg if I could flip it quick for something in this area. Will probably just go on the long list of 'to be developeds'

Well I'll have you know that we speak The Queen's English up in The North! :)
Rest Room? Now that's an American term if ever I heard one
But I agree that 'break room' probably is used more up north. I think I have vague memories of the break room as the place where the staff are during break time. (NotoriousFrench confirms this point I guess, stopping me from going crazy!)

Its much more of an American term
I agree with this. Fewer results for this term in Google UK, but I think as the posts here suggest, it's use in the UK is split. Probably strong usage in some areas and less in others. Just need to figure if it's a geography thing or an age thing.

Thanks for you thoughts

iv'e heard of it,and i live in the middle,so no calling me northern or southern, but if you must i would rather be known as northern.....;)
