Hi guys,

I have recently started working on a new BANS site...

Spares Or Repair

After noticing Google seems to be culling most of these sites and ranking them very poorly I am trying to gradualy grow the site while adding content to every page, so that its not just some generic BANS site for Google to penalize...

For example the cars category has all the makes removed for now as I want to add them after I have added content to those pages first.

Am I worrying to much, or am I taking the correct route?

Does anyone have examples of BANS sites they own holding well in Google? Do you have any stories of these kinds of sites dropping off the face of the search engine?

All ideas and thoughts will help!

Mat

I had BANS running 2 months and their rankings was lower than my single page parking page, even when searching for the exact keywords in the url it didn't make it into the top 50, yet in the same conditions the parking page was on page 1.

My Conversion rate on BANS was about 8%, which is better than my conversion rate on single pagers or parking pages (my own system not nd/wp/tc), on the parked pages I get about 2-3% but the higher number of visitors make revenue just slightly lower.

Was that a bog standard BANS site or with added content?

A few bog with nothing, 1 fully completed, and a few with 2-3 articles/blocks of content, I know a few months isn't long but it was taking me longer to do bans that it was to crack DW open.

BANS works really well for the type of site im trying to make though. Im hoping the big G likes my site or I may have to find another way to achieve the same type of result and look.

I was reading this blog post about Wordpress affiliate stores and it has this bit about BANS and what the people at BANS are quoted as saying:

Advantages of using Wordpress for Affiliate Sites and Online Stores

Also if you want to incorporate other affiliate store scripts, such BANS Build a Niche Store, into your Wordpress sites this is now very easy to do with special themes and the BANS guys are recommending that this is what you do for all new BANS sites to ensure that Google does not see your site as a "thin" affiliate site and de-index it! Put up a Wordpress site as your main site and home landing page with links to your BANS store and product categories in a menu and you should be ok.
