Winows xp stopping free support

I read an article that says microsoft will be stopping free support for XP.
This is a good opportunity to start a support site for XP.
Just like when they released vista people wont change OS because they think it might flop.
Hope i'm right and may start working on a support website.

they will still have a trademark against XP though, and i don't know about you but i have xp on one pc and vista on the next and xp really is better than vista.

I don't think offering free information on a product will infringe on any trademark laws.
That is what i think too. I've seen so many people with problems using vista.
I think XP will be around for a long time.

if there going to offer a paid service and your doing it for free they will be slightly peeved, whats the point you will earn nothing, because has soon has you put a google ad on it your snookered.

Google isnt the only advertising on the web.
And a collective bank of articles and info is an alternative to paying for information that is already out there.

@ Navyfrank, it doesn't matter which advertising you use, the problems with trademarked words/names arise with things like this. Say I owned the domain, ford.co.uk, which is a trademark name like XP, I make a site and put something on there serving ads like Adsense or whatever, and some of those ads are advertising Volvo's, Mercedes or any other car makes, Ford will now have good reason to DRS me for an abusive registration due to their trademarked name being used to serve up ads for their direct competitors.

I understand that.
There are lots of other words that fit WOS and using xp after it can stand for expert.
Ex: Web Ordering System expert
Wireless Office System expert
Waste Oil Services expert
and so on.

That second post was just a suggestion and it brings many views.
These are some of the "many options" stated in the very first post.
If you have any comments on suggestions of what wosxp can stand for that would be a helpful post.

Thanks Frank

The domain is a non-starter. The only way you could get web traffic is from a site related to Win XP and Microsoft will have major objections to that and sue you. Put it down to experience and move on IMO.

You can start a site about tech help for Win XP, but you can't use the term in your domain because Microsoft's team of expensive lawyers will see this as passing off (you implying you are Microsoft).
