Wanted: Domain Appraisal Appraisal please...

Hello all,

Could the knowledgeable domain traders on this site possibly provide me with an appraisal for : cloudhosting.co.uk

I bought this because of the hype about "the cloud" and the development and hosting within. I have a feeling that this could be worth quite a few bob in a few years to come.

The domain also comes with a cloud hosting information site that receives approx 100 uniques (don't know if that will affect the valuation?)

For what i see, they all have trademark issues and therefore worthless.

Sorry to put a dampner on any dreams of nice cash but don't see any value in them.

Please continue to ask other domainers opinions.

Thanks for your assessment, have to admit I'm not particularly clued up when it comes to trademarks, however it does seem strange that cloud hosting is trademarked, because essentially it like saying that "web hosting" is trade marked.

Can you really blanket trademark a new innovation? It's like saying that injectionmoulding.com is trademarked or welding.com is trademarked.

Like I say, I'm not particularly clued up when it comes to this, so am just asking for clarification so I don't buy any more worthless domains.

Would agree - not looked but there is a company that does connectivity called something like 'the cloud'

but in computing terms cloud is more general...

Not a shabby set, but the extensions do kill a few of them eg. .eu.com is a subdomain set not a domain

Yeah, true. I think the most valuable ones are probably:

cloudhosting.net
cloud-hosting.co.uk
cloudhostingreview.co.uk
cloudhostingreview.org

Any idea what kind of value I should expect from these? I'm new to the game.

I'm not a domainer - I'm a web developer - but some of them look OK to me:

cloudhostingreview.co.uk
cloudhostingreview.org.uk
cloudhostingreview.net
cloudhostingreview.org

they look OK as affiliate sites for "cloud hosting" - provided the company has an affiliate program - couldn't see anything on their home page - but easy enough to email them or phone them up

maybe they use clickbank or similar affiliate site
