Today LettingAgency.org sold today on sedo for £800.

Based on this sale what do you think the value of these are? Realistic valuations are appreciated. Thanks!

Hope you didnt just buy those

£0.00 for all of them

what the fook is lettings

The reason why that sold for £800 was because it was LETTING not lettings

Waste of money

**** Update

The letting-agency.com might be your only saviour

Letting-Agency(dot)com - what about this one?

The plural of a word isn't that bad anyway as it shows up well on search engines. Also, these are .com and .co.uk so are perfect for a uk business. On lettings agent windows says lettings! so... this is not an uncommon word and will be searched for in search engines and by direct type-ins.

Sorry - not too much end-user value. Believe me, those who buy these names look for suitable unregistered alternatives first, and they also reg some of those same alternatives to prevent their competition from doing the same.

This remids me - though not nearly as bad - of the name "asseenontvset.com" that was posted elsewhere and the owner insisted it was worth a lot bc/ asseenontv.com sold for so much.

The .org was mine and I'm very pleased with the price it sold for. :)

Letting-Agency.com/.net - you may be in with a good shot I think. :)

You've spent approx £40

If you can get a buyer for the letting-agent.com then you will make your money back.

Your looking at £100 - £500 at very best IF and only IF you can get a buyer.

As it stands that £40 is wasted at the moment as your not making any money from it unless you get a few adsense click thrus.

But your deffinatly playing a sit and wait game

Advertise on SEDO and sit and wait really obviously the dot coms you pay per year so in respects you need a sale reasonably quickly to stop yourself ending up paying about £20 or more per year which mounts up.

I know its hard to resist when you see something that you think can make money but unless your a developer then some ideas are not worth it really.

nah....letting-agency.com must be worth more than £800 based on a recent sale of a similar domain. That was a .org; surely this .com is worth at least 7 / 8 or more times that even with a hyphen. Hyphens are gd for search engine results anyway

Well at least this beats rocky 6 anyway ;)

Hyphons are 50/50 being honest I think

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=letting+agent&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB

This is for letting agent and I couldnt be bothered to go through the whole list to see how many hyphons were in there.

It depends on the search terms and how popular the word is really and also inbound links.

I have a domain and it used to be top but I changed the design, so now its second but a hyphon name has took the top spot.

If you look at the top 100 on any choice you make and compare the non hyphon names to the hyphon names, also the dot com, co.uk compared to org.uk etc

Then its about 90% in my favour

Will finish there as dont want to use all my good arguement points in one go lol

good, cos i've had the hyphenated .org.uk's for about 6 months now and not a sniff. A fiver any good to anyone ??? :D

.org.uk domains are rubbish though. Hardly any of them are top of any search engine rankings.

. hyphenated .com with premium generic/industry specific niche sector such as this are rare.

Its a specific term used primarily in the UK, "agency" could be replaced with "agents" "agent" "specialists" "uk" etc, and it has a hyphen. Sure its developable, but I don;t see a ton of end user interest.
