I also have pervades.co.uk and pervaded.co.uk.

The adwords tool shows 22200 per month for pervade and a bit more for the others.

What do you guys think re. value ?

Cheers,

Steve.

I was trying to work out how you got to the figure of 22000 searches for these keywords, and then I realised that these were broad results for the US.

Then I saw that it does indeed give the same figure for UK exact. I think the adwords tool seems a bit screwed up at the moment. It gives you 1000 UK broad searches and 22000 exact for 'pervade', which is obviously incorrect.

I wouldn't trust it right now.

Anyway, aside from the search results, what site would go on these names? If it's not immediately obvious, then it's not worth much more than reg fee imo. That's a good rule to stick to ;)

better idea

Instead of pervade, why not get pervaid.com, it could be some sort of charity benefit for the clinically perverse. Winner!

Sod Comic Relief! There are pervs all over the country that need your help now :D

I'd give to a good cause like that :ds

There's no statistically quantifiable value because it doesn't relate to something bought over the internet. Therefore, it's a case of sell it whenever anyone offers you something half decent for it. Value will only be achieved if someone particularly likes it, there's no "natural" search value if that makes sense. If it was me and someone offered me over £200 I would sell, and I would not expect that level of offer to come quickly.

Very good GPedro. I'll start knocking the placards together !

Or a new NRG drink perhaps ? Sees you through the up n downs ...

It makes perfect sense what you both say about relevance. Does this also apply to american dictionary domains ? I've found half a dozen and a 4 letter one but they're obscure terms - though short. I've held off registering them, bacuase although they're very easy to spell they're not relevant to any particular website.

Why do people have such obscure .com dictionary domains ? Surely it can't be because they're memorable ? Is there some kind of 'domain name' speculative bubble going on ?

Cheers,

Steve.

You can get lucky on a short domain that is highly memorable and brandable, but you are relying on being quite lucky that someone else sees the potential. If you stick to buying generic domains related to products that sell well over the internet, e.g. my games consoles domain, your domains are a lot easier to value and you greatly increase your chances of a sale or being able to build a valuable website yourself. All I am saying is there is less guesswork and luck with generic domains.
