Hi,

Would you mind looking at my website and come up with suggestions on how I can improve my zero sales, I get plenty of vistors average 5 to 10 per day but as yet I havent sold a domain. I'm I asking too much for my domains, are the domains relevant in todays climate, can vistors get to what they are interested in easily enough (maybe I should organise my domains into categories) or should I write my own site rather than using Mr Site software. Help is needed to get my head round what I'm doing wrong - constructive criticism only would be appreciated. My site is DOMAIN PORTAL SALES - New and used domains at.

Anything that could get me my first sale is now a must.

Thanks in advance, Tony

I don't sell many domains, but how about a prominent section on your site where you feature some of the best domains you have and explain why they are good and what a buyer could do with them.

Also, how about a bargain section? Or a bulk deals section?

Start a blog and comments on lots of domaining blogs to bring in traffic, plus it gives your site a personality.

Hope this helps.

Rgds

Appraise my site

Hi,

Thanks for your comments m8, they are taken on board and will be actioned in the coming days, what about catagorising them into specific types other than the current .co.uk/,com/.biz/.info and .me.uk do you think that that might work - I've been thinking about that for a while....

Thanks again, Tony

PS the domains that show as SOLD have been sold on ebay.

Hi,

I think the order of your menu is wrong.

1. The discount thing and "new this month" should be on the front page.

2. I prefer to see domains by keyword rather than alphabetical order.

3. I like the idea of including related videos.. although I think the choice of videos could be better.

4. Contact details should be accessible eg. near the top.

5. Clicking your logo at the top should take you back to the main page.

6. As previously mentioned, a well written blog or news section would present you with greater authority.

Thanks again (a friendly lot you domaineers are), I take on board what you say and will change the layout accordingly, I dont know if Mr Site has a search function but i will look into it as there is alot of work involved in sorting into keyword order.

Again thanks again, any more comments would still be appreciated.

Cheers, Tony

DOMAIN PORTAL SALES

How to sort by keywords, extension or price

Ah, if you're looking for an easy way to sort by keywords, then I can offer one solution. I run a site which lets you submit domains for sale. It's a free service and lets people sort your domains by keyword, extension or price. Actually, it's quite new and I'm looking for some early adopters.

I currently have two services which work together; 1. an advertising platorm adspace.alwayspages.com and 2. a list site for getting organised list.alwayspages.com I am currently using these tools to advertise my domains for sale which you can see here goodnames.alwayspages.com/bc/4

This last link demonstrates how I use my advertising platform and list organiser to sell my domains. With these tools, you can produce a similar ad. This is a free service; the more eyeballs we get the greater chance of selling domains.

There are three steps to create an ad like mine:

1. Go to adspace.alwayspages.com and create an online business card. You will need a graphic which will initially be displayed at 150 x 90. You can upload a larger alternative image which people see when they click through to your ad. You can also add things like email, telephone, web link and more.

2. Go to list.alwayspages.com to create a price list for your domains, an example list is given. Once you've done this, add a view to your list called Domain Name Price List. Your lists are private, to publish them you must attach them to your online business card....

3. Go back to adspace.alwayspages and add your list to your online business card. This will allow people to view and sort your list by keyword, extension or price. That's it, you're done.

At the moment there is no API to include the list directly on your site but there is an option to add a web link back to your site. Hope this solutions fits your needs. Feedback appreciated.

Anyone want to try?

Well, no coding is required. You simply create a list like the following and add a view called Domain Name Price List. That's it, the rest is done auto-magically...

Code:
  - name : Hot Advertiser
    domains :

        - HotAdvertiser.com
        - HotAdvertiser.net

    cost : XXX
    price : 150
    keywords :

        - Business
        - Media and Communications

    comment : >

An obvious winner and a great value double pack with
        both .com and .net.

In the above we named this sale "Hot Advertiser". The cost field is not required and it's never displayed, it's simply there for your own reference. You simply copy-and-paste the format for each domain or set of domains.

There's more info on my site and if anyone else wants to try this please do! It's free so your only loss is a bit of time.

Tony, you have some very reasonable domains and prices there. Kudos to you for that. I'm sure if other members checked out what you're offering you'd get a sale or two ;)

Nice looking site - easy to navigate as well. I have also just set up a domain selling site a few months back. It's a tough slog getting the traffic coming, but it's finally happening.
Good luck.
