Any assistance would be much appreciated.

The domain is parked at the moment until a sale is agreed.

Reseller, low £x,xxx, even end user chip shops and the like aren't going to pay a great deal more.

You need to approach the likes of McCain Foods, Harry Ramsdens etc for it to reach it's true potential.

Then there are the other chips to consider I suppose (The electronic variety).

Value? Whilst British and enjoy fish and chips, I also thought of casino chips so in that respect, depending on what's done with the domain, there's money there.

It could be used for selling poker chips but I guess anyone wanting to do that would buy pokerchips.co.uk which has been forsale for some time at £7,500 with no takers.

I'd say you'd have to put some legwork in to reach that figure, don't expect offers like that to land on your lap quickly (or on a domain forum)

Yeah it's a nice name, really brandable (really British) but I think you'll need to look to the long term to get a big sale.

Thats right, and two of the bidders had privately bid upto £3K

But I pulled the auction as already have had offers to £5K since posting on this board and an offer from another board as well.

I don't know how accurate Sedo are, just want like everyone else to get as much as I can.

Judging by the amount and variety of chips in freezer compartments in supermarkrts, I would think there is a chance to market the domain to those manufacturers. Plus, they have an array of ads on TV for chips. Ending the ad with 'see chips.co.uk for our latest offer, chance to win a new mini etc, etc' must be worth a bit of money.

Anyway, my view is that it must surely be worth about 10k to these manufacturers. That is, it must surely pay back more than that in revenue gained over a period X, simply by having the edge on the competition.

Whether they can see that is another matter. I'd hold onto it for a while until I got an offer approaching 10k. Look at this way, the British love affair with chips will go and on. The name is good for the long-term and it cannot beaten by any other relevant web address. Plus, who can tell whether in the next couple of years a new or existing chip manufacturer is going to make an assault on the competition (like Walkers did with crisps).
