hard to value first names...no previous sales of similar popular names to base a valuation on that i can find. Anyone know different

i caught alex.co.uk yesterday and have had some interest but am struggling to price that.

In the absence of any price info on similar .co.uk sales, I've no idea how to value them.

I purchased pete.co.uk from Chris at dropcatcher.co.uk the day after they caught it for £500, I thought that was a good price. It's at sedo at the moment and i've been offered £1200 before now. I'm sure there must be many people with the name Andrew in the internet business who'd love to have that name. I'd guess low £x,xxx for certain.

As for alex.co.uk, less popular, less demand, probably a lower price. But you never know to the right Alex, say Alex Ferguson it might be worth a few quid.

We have sold elinor.co.uk, rina.co.uk and sangeeta.co.uk in the mid hundreds (ivor.co.uk was a bit higher)

There is not much interest in first names, and place names are not as sought after as you might expect.

Thanks for the replies chaps, was really struggling to come up with a value due to the lack of previous sales. The only one I could find was a 20k offer for simon.co.uk at auction.names123.com - which I doubt was a genuine bid!

I have a similar issue with Edward.co.uk and Liam.co.uk - hard to know how to price and a few enquiries, but all of the "please give it to me for reg fee" variety. Still, both get typeins (several dozen a month)
