Would you buy the Apple Watch?

I got £5 on Barry having his own boat race as screen saver/wallpaper and him glancing more lovingly at his own picture throughout the day than texts/calls/emails ;)

All going well Barry ?

Now if i had the iphone6+ that maybe true, however, I decided to go for the iphone6 as it sits better in the pocket... This means the screen size is smaller and my natural beauty would be lost.

When you look as good as me pictures should be displayed in Times Square or on an iMax screen to let others enjoy the view too. Theres no point in loving myself on a personal screensaver when i can share the love with the world, just saying!

Have you missed me Mr M :) x

I would consider buying one for the following reasons:

- Twitter notifications / Twitter reading.
- Instagram browsing.
- Being able to answer my mobile on my wrist.
- Some home automation control. I like the kettle idea.

However, I think there are going to better value options than the Apple watch.

I am going to predict that the Apple Watch will be a success. I think it will also be beneficial for sales of other smartwatches, and lighter/cheaper smartbands.

It seems pointless since it only works alongside your phone.

That was my thought, I'd need to migrate to an iPhone AND take the watch and phone with me, alternatively, if an urgent call / text / email comes in I'll just look at the phone, after all, I'd still need to get the phone out to take the call properly or reply to the text / email.

Even my Apple fan boy mate isn't rushing out to get one :)

Good luck to those who buy one.

This could be just the thing for you http://mashable.com/2014/08/19/fuhu-big-tablet/, half way between iwatch and imax ;)

Yup, I've been missing you Barry, think I was sold a bent rifle, statistically I should have at least maimed you by now :p

Good to see somethings haven't changed, what are you up to these days ?

The Apple Watch will also be good for discreet notifications. If you're in a boring seminar or something, you can discreetly check if one comes in.

My cousin has just purchased the gold edition this morning to sell back on ebay at a profit.

That's a strange marriage! Will Tag risk their brand by going cheap or will it be just an expensive alternative to an expensive Apple Watch.

What is interesting is that the Android OS makes having a classical watch mechanism unnecessary, thereby removing a major selling point for luxury watch makers. I'm not sure how the marketing department is going to tackle that one.

You must have bought the solid gold one then as they arrived today ;)

If it was a pre order on the day of release it would be the "42mm Space Black Stainless Steel Case with Space Black Stainless Steel Link" as that is due for delivery around now ;)

That's the one..

Two of my 13 year old daughter's friends went to school with them on today. One blue, one white; both looked nice, but a little underwhelming.

I bought it for the fitness stuff really - I can monitor my movements and stream music directly to my bluebuds headphones.

I can go for a run now with just my watch and headphones and listen to audiobooks / music!

Am I only the only one who is getting sick of the mobile era? Phones, watches and tablets controlling our lives, not something I feel very comfortable with.

I have actually chucked my phone into a corner and started to use an oldschool alarm to wake me up.

I appreciate how useful they can be, but equally think most human beings have turned into bots as a result. Always saddens me to see someone walking along with their head down or using a phone during a meal.
